(Studio) President elect Nixon asks J. Edgar Hoover to continue as director of FBI. Also asks Richard Helms to continue as CIA head.

(DC) Republican administration, Democratic Congress problem noted. Senator consideration of treaty to control nuclear weapon spread considered. Senator Everett Dirksen favors approval of treaty; Nixon does not, entirely, due to USSR invasion of Czechoslovakia. [NIXON - intros. Gerald Ford, Everett Dirksen.] [DIRKSEN - notes that Mike Mansfield desires action on treaty. Dirksen favors it.] Nixon visits Dwight Eisenhower at Walter Reed Hospital. Film shown.
