(Baghdad: Todd Connor) Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s abuse of the “oil-for-food” program featured; details given about kickbacks that Saddam would receive when he used oil revenue to make U.N.-approved purchases of food or medicine then require the suppliers to add ten percent to the invoice, which would funnel back to Saddam in a foreign bank account, and allegations that members of U.N. also illegally profited under the program. [Iraqi Governing Council advisor Claude HANKES-DRIELSMA†- says that documents suggest that member-states of the U.N. violated U.N sanctions.]
