(Tel Aviv: Tom Fenton) A Palestinian suicide bomber's failed attempt to attack Israeli soldiers in northern Israel, the return of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to Israel after the suicide bombing at a Rishon Letzion pool hall reported and efforts to send Palestinians inside the Church of the Nativity into exile reported; scenes shown of a robot dragging away the wounded would-be bomber. [Palestinian spokeswoman Hanan ASHRAWI - says Sharon will use the bombing as an excuse to attack.] [Israeli political analyst Hirsch GOODMAN - says Palestinian Authority leader Yasir Arafat is an impediment to peace.]

(White House: John Roberts) The discussion held between President Bush and Sharon before Sharon's departure for Israel after the Rishon Letzion bombing reported; scenes shown of Bush and Sharon at the White House. [SHARON - says there is no way to make progress toward peace when dealing with Arafat.] [BUSH - says Arafat had disappointed him but has taken a positive step.] [University of Maryland professor Shibley TELHAMI - says people need hope that the suffering would end.] [Jordan's King ABDULLAH - says the peace process must move forward.]
