(Studio) FBI reported interviewing President Reagan about Monday's assassination attempt.

(DC) FBI and Secret Service said meeting with President today; his praise of Secret Service quoted. Reagan's later meeting with wounded agent Timothy McCarthy discussed. [McCARTHY -thanks ambulance crew and others for saving him.] McCarthy's recuperation plans mentioned. White House staff's greetings to those wounded in assassination attempt reported; possible release date for President mentioned. Vice President George Bush mentioned substituting for Reagan tonight at dinner in same hotel where President was shot.

(DC) Possibility that bystander Alfred Antonucci was 1st to apprehend suspected gunman John Hinckley following Monday's assassination attempt examined; films, photos of shooting shown. [ANTONUCCI - describes event.] His remorse over not having done more to prevent Hinckley from wounding others noted. [ANTONUCCI - thinks he should have done something else.]

(Studio) Secret Service arrest of Edward Richardson in New York City today after discovery of letters in New Haven, Connecticut. hotel room threatening President Reagan's life as well as messages to actress Jodie Foster, currently a student at Yale, reported Hinckley, accused of shooting Reagan, recalled also staying in same New Haven hotel, leaving letters threatening the President and obsessed with Foster. Proximity of Richardson's former residence to Colorado home of Hinckley mentioned.
