[In '94, ROMNEY - backs abortion and Roe v Wade.] [June 2007, ROMNEY - says he has been pro-life.] [October 9 and 10, 2012, ROMNEY - comments on abortion and being pro-life.]

[BUCHANAN - denies the poll that abortion is the number one issue for women: it is the economy; states the gender gap has collapsed in the last few weeks because Obama policies have failed women and children; states the pro-life movement is happy with Romney's positions.] [TANDEN - says contraception became a flashpoint for women in the Republican primary and Romney is hiding his positions on abortion; restates Republicans have made this an issue with statements saying Romney would overturn Roe v.
